Cypress Closes On A Dollar General Store

Cypress Commercial and Investment Real Estate, a Columbia, SC based firm serving the southeast, is pleased to announce James C. Harrison, III, CCIM recently closed the sale of a Dollar General in Lexington Park, MD. The Dollar General was purchased by an out of state investor as part of a 1031 tax deferred exchange. Cypress has been involved with the sale of over 110 Dollar General Stores throughout the Carolina’s and East Coast.
Cypress marketed the properties on behalf of the seller and procured the buyer. Dollar General (TICKER=DG) is a 75 year old company and is the nation’s largest small-box discount retailer with more than 14,000 retail stores located in 43 states with 15 Distribution Centers and 127,000 plus employees. DG had $22 billion in sales in fiscal 2016. DG has a Standard & Poor’s rating of BBB and ranked #128 on the Fortune 500 list as of June 2017.
